On a beautiful sunny day, you just can’t beat the turquoise waters of Cornwall or dramatic coastlines of Devon.

We may not have the best weather here in the UK, but when the sun does shine, you can’t beat the South West Coastline.

After spending my whole life traveling down to Devon, and in more recent years exploring Cornwall in my van, I have come to discover some special places.

Below, in no particular order, I have outlined my favourite places, along with the places that are still on my list to visit.

Cornwall

  1. Wheal Kitty Workshops, St Agnes

Here you will find some of my favourite spots to hang out in Cornwall.

First up - Open Surf - delicious coffee and snacks, beautiful books plants and other gifts, and of course some beautiful surfboards which are shaped in-house (you can watch the process while you sip on your coffee). Or if you fancy a go you can also book their course.

Canteen is opposite Open and does the most amazing £5 lunches which are always so delicious.

You will also find the Headquarters (and store) of cold water surf company Finisterre which has amazing clothing and is a very ethical brand. You will also find the Surfers against Sewage’s head office, and little shop which has great alternatives to using plastic.

I would also recommend walking along the cliff path from St Agnes to Chapel Porth.

2. St Ives is well worth a stop off - you should pop into The Raw Chocolate shop - completely delicious raw chocolate hand crafted in Cornwall. Check out Academy & Co for beautiful gifts and clothing, and grab yourself a coffee from Yallah. The Sorting Office cafe is also a goodie!

3. Falmouth - here I would highly recommend grabbing some coffee and a pastry from Stone Bakery and then browsing Toro and then followed by lunch at The Kitchen.

4. I love Sennen beach and if your down that way you should defiantly check out Minack Theatre - its beautiful.

Still on our list are The Hidden Hut and Mount Pleasant Ecological Park which has the likes of Cabana Kitchen and Cafe.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Cornwall, take a look at Kudhva with its beautiful treehouses and cabins.

In Newquay have a bite at Pavilion Bakery or Gilmores Tacos.

South Devon

The Almond thief cafe is a little gem - you have to get a coffee and one of their cardamon buns - best I’ve ever had!

Riverford Field Kitchen is meant to be amazing - I shop regularly at Bens Cafe but have never made it to eat at Riverford - I hear only good things.

We can always recommend a walk across Dartmoor - the landscape is so beautiful along with the wild horses. Visiting the miniture pony’s is also pretty amazing!

If you want some interiors inspiration while sipping a coffee I would recommend you pop into Nukku. Situated in a converted barn (which is beautiful) they have a selection of furniture and homewares with a cafe attached.

I love walking from Dartmouth to Stoke Flemming and having lunch in the local pub there (The Green Dragon). It’s a beautiful walk with secret beaches along the way for a little dip.

North Devon

I have mainly come here to catch some surf at Woolacombe or Croyde. I can highly recommend the The Stores for a re fuel after some time in the water.

Many of my products have been inspired by this beautiful coastline - enjoy it, and remember your adventures with us.

All photos by Myself or the very talented Vivan Kim and Oli Hillyer Riley.
